In young animals, glucosamine is naturally produced in sufficient quantities. However, as an animal ages, this production can decrease, which can affect joint health. Since glucosamine is not found in normal food, it makes sense to give it as a dietary supplement, especially to older animals. This can contribute to supporting their mobility and overall well-being.

Dosage

1 – 2 times daily (1 scoop of 1 ml contains approximately 1 gram)

Dog/cat <10 kg     1.25 scoops
Dog 10 – 25 kg      2.25 scoops
Dog 25> kg           5 scoops

If it is difficult in practice to administer this product several times a day, once a day or once every 2 days is sufficient. In that case, give the maximum daily dosage. Even then, this product can be used effectively, but the reaction may take a little longer to become apparent.

Administration

PUUR Glucosamine 100g can be given with food. Moisten the powder so that it is not blown out of the food bowl. Observe the animal's reaction carefully. Provide necessary rest, but also ensure movement. If the animal experiences pain when moving, it is advisable to regularly take short walks with it. Straight-line movements, in particular, are good for keeping the joints supple and strengthening ligaments and tendons. Abrupt stops and turns, such as playing with other animals, should be avoided. This places too much strain on the muscles, tendons, and joints.

Duration of treatment

In cases of chronic discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 2 to 3 weeks. Once improvement is observed, a maintenance dosage can be started. This is usually half of the dosage indicated on the packaging. When dosing this product, observe the animal's reaction carefully. A higher dosage may be necessary initially; this product can be safely given at a double dose. Gradually reduce the dosage to the lowest possible amount. This product can be given continuously.

Interaction and contraindication

During pregnancy and lactation, always consult with the attending veterinarian. To date, no side effects of this product are known or have been reported.

Storage

Avoid direct sunlight and store this product dry and at a temperature between 5-20 °C. Keep out of reach of children. The expiration date is stated on the bottom left of the label or under the jar.
