For hairballs, or animals that regularly eat something dirty from the street, PUUR Psyllium can be a good maintenance product. Also for animals that need more volume in their stool, for example due to anal gland problems.

Is the animal sensitive to intestinal inflammation, does it have an allergy or IBD? Then Puur Plantago is the better option due to the short-chain fatty acids it helps produce. Also, for acute diarrhea, PUUR Plantago ovata is pleasant to use due to its greater fluid absorption.

Dosage

1 – 2 times a day:
Dog > 25 kg 1.5 scoop
Dog 10-25 kg 1 scoop
Dog < 10 kg
Cat 0.5 scoop

1 scoop contains approximately 2 grams.

Upon improvement, a maintenance dosage can be started. This is usually half of the indicated dosage on the package. When dosing this product, carefully observe the animal's reaction. Initially, a higher dosage may be necessary; PUUR Psyllium 150g can be safely given in a double dose. Gradually reduce the dosage upon improvement to the lowest possible dosage.

Administration

Give this product over food or directly into the mouth with a plastic syringe, diluted with a little water.

Psyllium Husk, the husks of flea seed, promote intestinal peristalsis and thereby stimulate intestinal function. This makes PUUR Psyllium 150g cleansing. It is good for normal intestinal function. When given with food, it helps to thicken the stool. When given with water or extra wet (moistened) food, it helps to soften the stool and ensures better intestinal passage. The fibers support the feeling of satiety and ensure balanced blood sugar levels.

Duration of treatment

In an acute situation, the duration of treatment is relatively short. This can range from a few days to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, continue administering this product for a few more days. In cases of long-term discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. This product can be given permanently.

Interaction and contraindication

Always use during pregnancy and lactation in consultation with the treating veterinarian.

To date, no side effects of this product are known or have been reported.

Storage

Avoid direct sunlight and store this product dry at a temperature between 5-20 °C. Keep out of reach of children. The expiration date is stated on the label.
